TV Split Privacy Policy
TV Split puts two apps on one Android TV screen. This policy explains what it does with your data: nothing leaves your TV.
Last updated
The short version
TV Split doesn’t collect or share any personal data, and we never receive anything from it. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or crash reporting. Its only network connection is to your TV’s own debugging service at 127.0.0.1, which never leaves the TV. If you buy TV Split Pro, Google Play handles the payment.
Who we are
TV Split is made by ES KEY TECH LTD („Ес Кей Тех“ ЕООД), EIK 208916463, 35 Stoyan Mihaylovski St., 4000 Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Because the app sends nothing to us, we hold no data about you.
How TV Split works on your TV
Android TV has no split screen of its own. TV Split arranges app windows through the TV’s debugging service, which it reaches at 127.0.0.1, an address that only exists inside the TV. Android asks you to allow this the first time, and you can withdraw it at any time in the TV’s developer options.
With your go-ahead in Setup, TV Split turns on two Android developer settings that make app windows possible (freeform windows and resizable apps). When you choose to hear only one app, it mutes the other app’s sound. Setup has buttons that turn the window settings off again and unmute every app TV Split muted.
To let you pick apps, TV Split reads the list of apps installed on your TV. That list stays on the TV.
What is stored on your TV
Your favorite apps, recent pairs, layout choices, the current window session, whether you own TV Split Pro, and the key TV Split uses to identify itself to the TV’s debugging service. All of it stays in the app’s private storage and is deleted when you uninstall TV Split or clear its data.
If Android’s own device backup is turned on, Android may include your settings in your backup. That backup is made and stored by Google under your Google account settings, not by us. The debugging key is kept out of backups.
TV Split Pro purchases
TV Split Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play, which processes the payment under Google’s Privacy Policy. We never see your payment details. Google gives us order records (such as the order number, date, product and country) that we use for accounting, refunds and tax.
To check whether you own Pro, TV Split asks Google Play on your TV. The answer comes from Google; nothing about you is sent to us.
Downloading the app
TV Split is distributed through Google Play, which handles downloads and updates under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data about you. The app doesn’t send us any; for order records from a Pro purchase, email [email protected] and we’ll help, within what tax law lets us delete. You can also complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (cpdp.bg) or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
TV Split isn’t directed at children under 13, and it collects no data from anyone.
